NARTHEX ADDITION, SANCTUARY RENOVATION

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta, Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Decatur, Georgia

VincentPope was retained by the Catholic Archdiocese in 2007 to develop a new 600 seat Sanctuary for this small predominately African American Parish in Decatur, Georgia. After several years of fund raising, the Parish set about a new course to renovate the existing Nave and design a new modern Narthex to reduce construction cost. The Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Parish will break ground in Fall 2011 with a new $1.5 Million Addition that includes needed gathering space, updated HVAC for the Nave, ADA accessibility and expanded public restrooms. Phase II will renovate the existing Nave and increase seating from 400 to 550 seats along with modernizing the interiors of the Sanctuary.
